This scarce brass ladle bears the straight-line "R. LEE" mark (L411a).  It is now presumed this was the touch of Richard Lee, Jr. who worked  in Springfield, Vermont from 1795 to about 1816.  His peripatetic  father- Richard Lee, Sr.--may have had in peddling his son's pewter and brassware, but is no longer presumed to have been heavily involved in its manufacture.  Fine condition. Length 11"

American Cast Brass Ladle, signed, by Richard Lee
