This splendid half-gallon Irish haystack measure bears the touchmark and address label of James Austen & Sons, Cork, and dates from the mid-to-late 1800s.  It has at least 11 verification markings on its lip interior, the most readily identifiable are for the former Highland county constituency of Ross and Cromarty in Scotland.   Very good condition with minor bumps consistent with use.  Height 10"
